Lynchburg man died in a house fire on Cabell Street A Lynchburg man died in a house fire on Cabell Street last night. The house was situated in a row of homes that date to the late 1800s in the historic Daniel's Hill neighborhood. The house was a total loss and two neighboring homes sustained minimal damage. Lynchburg Fire Marshal Greg Wormser says firefighters were initially delayed because the fire had caused a power line to snap and fall across the street. He says because of the construction of the house, those extra minutes would not likely have saved the victim or the house. There is no word on the cause of the fire |
