A Spout Spring woman is dead after her SUV ran off the side of the road and into a tree in Campbell County. Virginia State Police say 67-year-old Betty Jean Blanks was killed on Doss Road near Virginia 24 just before 10 a.m. yesterday Investigators say there were no skid marks and speeding was not believed to have been a factor in the crash. It's possible that Blanks suffered from a medical condition although that has not been confirmed.
