Virginia Sheriff's Association travels to the state capital Local members of the Virginia Sheriff's Association traveled to the state capital in Richmond this week to give their support to the Senate's version of the budget bill which includes new fees to help fund local law enforcement programs. Under the House Bill, fees to increase insurance premiums and court costs would be eliminated, meaning less public safety money for sheriffs. Campbell County Sheriff Terry Gaddy says his calls for service are up and under the current House budget, he will have fewer deputies next year. |
