A Hurt man charged with rape by force, abduction and brandishing a machete could be released on bond. A Judge this week set a $100,000 bond with surety for 21 year old, Mark Dustin Wright. Media outlets report evidence to be presented in trial includes the weapon which is a machete that was recovered by police at the scene; forensic evidence obtained during an examination that corroborated the victim’s complaint; and a text message sent to the victim by Pittman following the April 4 incident. According to the prosecutor, the commonwealth has a confession in this case. The two felonies are life offenses; a preliminary hearing is set for June 10.
