From Lynchburg City Police: On November 19, 2015, Detectives from the Lynchburg Police Department obtained warrants on DaJuan Quantez Gray for 1st degree murder, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, shooting from a moving vehicle, and maliciously shooting at an occupied dwelling. The arrest warrants were in relation to the murder of Brandon Carter that occurred on November 10, 2015 at 1512 Cliff Street. Gray was believed to have fled the state after the homicide occurred and the United States Marshals Service (USMS) was contacted in reference to locating Gray. On December 1, 2015, the USMS Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Gray in Hughesville, Maryland. Gray, a resident of Hughesville, was transported to the Charles County Detention Center in La Plata, Maryland where he is being held without bond and is awaiting extradition to Virginia. Gray is the second suspect charged in relation to the death of Brandon Carter. The LPD is continuing to investigate the incident.
