Virginia’s two U.S. senators want  a federal investigation of Liberty University’s handling of sexual assault claims.   12 women have sued Liberty, claiming the school dismissed their complaints them or punished them for violating Liberty’s code of conduct.  Last week, Liberty’s board voted to open an “independent investigation” into the matter. But U.S. Senators Tim Kaine (D) and Mark Warner (D) are asking the US Education Department to investigate the claims against Liberty and “take appropriate action.”
