UPDATE: A 16-year-old from Lynchburg is in custody in connection with a social media threat of a school shooting at Brookville High School. The Campbell County Sheriff’s Department and school officials began investigating the threat last night. They determined there was no imminent threat, but took the teenager into custody this afternoon. He’s charged with Threats of Death or Bodily Injury on School Property. The subject was transferred to the Juvenile Detention Center where he is currently being held.
EARLIER: From the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office: Late last evening, Campbell County Schools’ administration and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department investigated a social media post that warned students not to attend Brookville High School today because of a threat of school shooting.
Campbell County Sheriff’s Office takes all school threats seriously and they are thoroughly investigated. The safety of our students is paramount, and measures have been taken to ensure their safety.
It has been determined there is no imminent threat to the student body and staff at BHS. Persons involved have been questioned by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department
