The Campbell County Department of Social Services was one of six local social services agencies recognized by Governor McDonnell at a special appreciation ceremony last month. Campbell was acknowledged as one of the leading counties in the state for work related to foster child adoption. In 2013, the County was successful in securing permanent families for eleven children within the locality’s foster care program who were unable to return to their biological families. According to a press release, As of Friday, January 3, 2014, 1031 adoption matches have been made over the past 12 months.
