Appalachian Power plans to build an electric transmission line through parts of northern Campbell County and the southern part of the City of Lynchburg. The project will add nine miles connecting the existing George Street and Brush Tavern substations to a new Lynbrook Substation. Yesterday, the company filed a request with the Virginia State Corporation Commission; the request will undergo a state-level review. If approved, AEP hopes to have service in place by June of 2017.
