An agreement for a 300,000 gallon water tank in Campbell County is a step closer to being finalized. Discussion regarding the transfer have been underway for several months between the Board of Supervisors and the Town of Altavista. Earlier this month, supervisors held a public hearing on transferring the tank along with its .41 acres. Under an amended agreement, the town will assume ownership of the tank and is required to maintain it in “good condition” or demolish it. That measure was approved by council and once accepted by the county, the agreement will be signed and the tank will be transferred.
