Amherst County Man Arrested for Burglary and Malicious Wounding

The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office investigated a malicious wounding on Saturday. According to a press release, deputies responded to a residence on Ramsey Road in the Monroe area of Amherst County, shortly after midnight January 11th. Following an investigation, 28 year old, Matthew S Sprouse, of Old Wright Shop Road Madison Heights, was arrested for Burglary and Malicious Wounding. The victim was treated and released from the Emergency Department at Lynchburg General Hospital. Mr. Sprouse was held on a secured bond pending a preliminary hearing in Amherst General District Court in April.
