From Lynchburg Police: On December 16, 2016 just before 630 a.m., the Lynchburg Police and Fire Departments responded to the 300 block of Euclid Avenue regarding a report by a motorist of a male subject lying on the sidewalk. When medics and officers arrived they found a b/m adult deceased on the sidewalk in the 300 block of Euclid Avenue close to the intersection of Euclid and St. Augustine Street. This subject was wearing a black jacket, yellow shirt, and blue jeansand had in his possession a black back pack. This male subject has now been identified as 38-year-old Kevin Carmine Barnett of Amherst, VA. The Lynchburg Police Department is conducting a sudden death investigation ofthis incident. As part of the investigation, the victim will be taken to the Roanoke Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. At this time preliminary investigation findings do not suggest that foul play was involved.
