A transgender woman in Lynchburg seeking to legally change her name, will be heading back to court after the first application was denied earlier this year. The News & Advance reports, the city resident has been receiving hormone treatment for just more than a year and is already recognized as female on her driver’s license. According to the article the request for the name change was first filed on Dec. 16. A new hearing is set for Friday and if a second denial comes she is prepared to appeal the case to the Virginia Supreme Court.
