A former Lynchburg City Schools’ employee has filed an appeal in a dismissed discrimination lawsuit against the school board. Ralph Hayes worked for the school system for 13 years. His argument is that he had been a victim of discrimination after division leaders eliminated his position as supervisor of environmental services in 2012 and did not offer him another job. A Judge last month found the case revealed no “credible evidence that the Plaintiff was subject to discrimination on account of his race. The court ruled that Hayes had been terminated for legitimate non-discriminatory reasons. Hayes filed an appeal with the 4th Circuit Court on Monday.
