The Appomattox Board of Supervisors this weekend met with the county’s planning commission to work on future plans and discuss things they wish to work on related to economic development. The News & Advance reports, the planning commission will create a vision statement to be presented to the board in coming months. Other items officials decided to focus on this year include creating a unified county vision, conducting a facilities study of the high school and updating the capital improvement plan. According to the article, another issue brought up during the meeting was the concern over problems with home businesses allowed in residentially zoned areas. The supervisors plan to meet with other county boards and commissions to discuss the vision for the county and eventually open the discussion to the public.
