An Appomattox man will serve 19 months in prison for stealing from his parents. Michael Dean Canada made an Alford plea last week, but was found guilty and convicted to two counts of grand larceny; as well as breaking and entering for taking an antique cabinet, firearms and coins from his mother and stepfather’s residence. Canada received 10 years with all but one year, seven months suspended on the condition of two years supervised probation and 10 years good behavior. He was also ordered to pay restitution.
