Appomattox County supervisors and staff have started searching the budget for ways to save to reduce the waste-related budget lines, which totals about $1 million. So far, officials haven’t proposed a specific tax increase but acknowledged one most likely would be needed. The supervisors are waiting to address the county’s decrease in revenue after the County Administrator presents the most up-to-date revenue collections next week. The next budget session is Wednesday where, according to media outlets, several department heads and agency representatives will present their requests and answer questions.
