The Presbyterian Homes & Family Services announced Tuesday it was withdrawing its application for a city land-use permit for a new athletic facility. The nonprofit had originally proposed to build two lighted multi-use sports fields, a four-court gymnasium, and one outdoor swimming pool on its 170-acre Linden Avenue campus. According to media outlets, the agency will be revising its project design in an effort to mitigate neighborhood concerns and will resubmit an application for the facility at a later date. The city has advised the organization that if it plans to change the proposal, it will have to restart the permit process.
