If you plan on hitting the highway this week …expect plenty of company. Traffic is likely to be at historic highs. Triple-A Mid-Atlantic’s Martha Meade says over 1.1-million Virginians will travel at least 50 miles .. between Wednesday, July 2nd and Sunday, July 6th. It’s the highest in 13 years .. since Triple-A began keeping holiday travel forecast records. That’s despite seasonal gas prices that are currently at a six year high. Meade says travelers say since the recession .. they are a little more comfortable dusting off those credit cards to travel for Independence Day.
