From Virginia State Police: The Virginia State Police are continuing their investigation into a traffic crash that occurred this morning around 6:55 am involving a Bedford County deputy. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2003 Chevrolet Impala that was being operated by Sandra Artz Tarece, age 52, of Lynchburg, Virginia was traveling northbound on Enterprise Drive when she failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn and struck a marked Bedford County deputies vehicle that was traveling northbound.
The Deputy Joseph K. Reiner, age 27, of Lynchburg , Virginia was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash and was not injured. The 2008 Ford Crown Victoria that he was operating suffered extensive damage. The driver of the Impala Sandra Tarece was also wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash and was not injured. Her vehicle sustained extensive damage as well and she was charged with Fail to Yield the Right of Way in the crash.
