The Bedford County School Board last night voted 4-3 in favor of making masks optional in schools for the upcoming year.   The CDC recommends masks for all teachers and students regardless of whether they’ve had a vaccine. But many parents last night told the school board it should be the parents’ decision.

The School Board also decided 4-3 not to adopt the state’s new policy for transgender students in schools. They will consider their legal options to challenge it.
