Bedford County’s Office of Economic Development announced this week that The Matrixx Group, a Citadel Plastics Holdings company, is growing and expanding its workforce to meet increased customer demands. For nearly 35 years, the Matrixx Company has been supplying the plastics industry with high quality products and is a leading global compounder of thermoplastic and thermoset resins for various industries. Citadel was incorporated in early 2007 and soon began to lay the groundwork for successful expansion; and in March of that year decided on Bedford County to build the first facility of its kind in Virginia. The Matrixx Group/Citadel Plastics located in the Bedford Center for Business has moved to a four-shift, 24/7 operation and currently has nine open positions. The jobs range from lab technicians to maintenance managers.
