The Bedford County Board of Supervisors yesterday discussed the county budget for Fiscal Year 2015. According to the News & Advance, after reviewing expenditures set to accumulate in the next four to six fiscal years, one member suggested raising the real estate tax rate, and at least two other board members supported the measure. Those opposing the proposal referred to the possible increases already set in the next phase of the reversion. The chairman suggested cuts such as to schools. The board will hold a special meeting Wednesday which will likely be the final budget work session. Board members are set to pass a spending plan and a tax rate for advertisement at that meeting.
