A Bedford County mother has been charged with murder in connection to the death of her two year old son yesterday…the father was charged with felony child abuse and neglect, and a charge related to meth-amphetamine manufacturing. Twenty-four-year-old Shana Marie Witt and 25-year-old Michael Smith are being held at the Bedford Adult Detention Center. A five year old the couple has together was not present at the time of the incident. Commonwealth’s Attorney Randy Krantz outlined the charges this afternoon.
