The Campbell County Board of Supervisors, today are expected to consider allowing chickens and bees in residential areas. The county’s planning commission discussed the topic at meetings in August, September and again in October when they recommended the county code continue treating chickens as poultry but allows them in other zoning districts as an exempted agricultural activity; and suggested using parcel size to determine whether bees can be kept on property. Supervisors will decide whether to authorize the amendments for the upcoming zoning ordinance revision.
