A bill sponsored by Campbell County Del. Matt Fariss requiring muzzle-loading hunters to wear blaze orange when entering and leaving the woods passed in a House committee yesterday. The bill was requested by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries after a hunter was shot in Southwest Virginia last fall. Many muzzleloader hunters are already wearing blaze orange voluntarily. Virginia’s legislature considers bills every winter that could impact the state’s hunters, anglers and boaters; this session there are more than 30 bills up for consideration.
