During a joint public hearing last week, two boards voted to put off proposed agricultural district changes in Amherst County. Discussions involving development of the county’s agricultural districts began about a decade ago; the proposed ordinance promoted residential growth while maintaining the rural character of the agricultural residential areas. The planning commission ultimately recommended rejecting the plan, and board of supervisors passed a motion to postpone consideration of the ordinance indefinitely.
