The Leesville Lake Association has announced dates for upcoming boating safety courses. The Association is once again sponsoring the classes that will be taught by members of the Lynchburg-based U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 85. The course is for those who operate a motorboat with a 10-horsepower or greater motor and are 45 years old or younger. It is also developed for operators of personal watercraft who are 14 years or older as of July 1 this year. All operators in those age groups are required by Virginia law to complete a boating safety education course.
