Babcock and Wilcox has received a defense contract from worth up to $1.3 billion in funding. B&W Nuclear Operations Group, the company’s subsidiary, received the contract from the U.S. Naval Reactors Program to produce nuclear components and manufacturing U.S. Naval nuclear power systems for submarines and aircraft carriers. The contract will last three years. Some of the work for the contract will be done at the facility located in Lynchburg.
