An Evington man has been sentenced to 12 years for a hit-and-run that caused the death of moped driver. 47 year old, Raymond Ridge Jr., pleaded guilty in August to one count each of manslaughter, hit-and-run with injury and driving while intoxicated. Ridge ran over 53 year old, Cecil Glenn Arthur of Madison Heights as he lay in the roadway following an unrelated accident on Timberlake Road on Sept. 24, 2012; in which Arthur was ejected from his motorbike, thrown to the ground where the minivan driven by Ridge struck him and fled the scene. Arthur was wearing a helmet but died from his injuries.
