The Campbell County School Board on Monday approved a budget for next school year. The final draft includes a request of about $3.4 million more funding, a decision that will need to be approved by the Board of Supervisors. Sources say the increase is due to a series of spending increases including health insurance and transportation; and will be needed to deal with additional rising costs such as payments for employee pensions to the Virginia Retirement System. The budget will be presented to supervisors on April 1.
