The Campbell County School Board is looking into signing a new contract for the upkeep of the heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems at school buildings. The current contract will expire this year; a competitive negotiation resolution passed on Monday allows the school system to consider bids for HVAC services provided by companies, rather than simply going on cost. According to the Altavista Journal, in addition to fixing broken parts, the plan covers preventative maintenance on equipment. The schools will get a number of bids over the next few weeks and then determine which provider presents the best plan.
