Campbell County officials have forwarded the fiscal year 2015 budget to a public hearing after a budget workshop Tuesday afternoon. The budget has no changes; with no tax increases are being advertised for the county after a split vote by the Board of Supervisors. According to the Altavista Journal, once the board advertises, the tax rates could not be raised for the budget year, but they could be decreased. The rates and the county’s proposed $127.8 million budget are set for a public hearing during the Board of Supervisors meeting on May 6. The supervisors will meet in a final budget workshop on May 20 and will vote on the budget at that time.
