Centra Nurse is Virginia’s Nurse of the Year

Heather Mayberry, a Clinical Nurse Specialist for several units at Lynchburg General Hospital, has been named Nurse of the Year by the Virginia Nurses Association for her work with the COVID pandemic at Centra. She received the award for her work to develop the concept of a Variable Acuity Unit, which paired COVID patients with specially trained front-line workers that provide care for them. Mayberry spoke with the Morningline:
