Amherst County authorities say charges are pending in a multi-vehicle accident earlier this week. Officials say a man’s car struck six vehicles, including an Amherst County Sheriff’s cruiser and a tractor-trailer, while they sat at a red light Tuesday morning. A.J. Davis of Lynchburg initially told officers that he did not see the stopped cars in front of him at the light near the Lowe’s entrance; but later told police that he had confused the accelerator of his Oldsmobile for the brake pedal. No injuries were reported– Virginia State Police are investigating the incident.
