A rejected rezoning request means a proposed townhouse complex in Lynchburg won’t be build…at least not where developers had hoped. Lynchburg officials cited concerns about traffic and encroachment on surrounding neighbors if the15-unit townhome development was built on Alta Lane; and City Council voted against rezoning the 2.5-acre tract of land on Tuesday. The project site between Wards Ferry and Leesville roads is zoned for low-density, single-family residential use. Sources say it would have needed medium-to-high density, multifamily zoning in order to proceed.
