Beginning this month, the City’s Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) project will cause the closure of much of Riverfront Park until at least next spring. Several large events that have previously been held at Riverfront Park have been moved to accommodate construction. Including the upcoming Lynchburg Music Festival planned on Saturday. During construction, much of the park at Jefferson Street will be fenced to prevent public access. Partial closures or re-routings of nearby trails and parking lots are anticipated for brief periods, and signage will be in place with alternate route information.
