City to Revamp Planning Strategy

Lynchburg will overhaul its planning process. The city plans to revamp the strategic planning process to pick out a dozen key goals from the city’s Sustainable City project. The 12 areas of focus will be charted over the next twelve months with metrics-based performance report made public at the end of the 2014. Media outlets report, The 12 goals were pulled from a variety of city planning documents and selected through the recent round of surveys. They include upgrading city roads and public spaces, promoting strategies for mixed-use development, furthering workforce development, and strengthening neighborhoods.
