The Lynchburg Police Department has announced the death of retired officer. According to a press release, Officer Stuart Mack passed away on April 17, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Officer Mack was a 29-year veteran of the Hill City’s Police Department, joining the ranks in 1984; during his career, he was part of the city Patrol Operations and the Investigations Bureau as a Narcotics / Vice Detective. He also served as a Department of Criminal Justice Services Defensive Tactics instructor for 18-years. Funeral arrangements have not been release.
