Traffic was delayed on Rt. 29 and over 700 hundred power customers in Amherst County were without electricity for a time Tuesday morning after a piece of construction equipment being used near the Buffalo River Bridge snagged a Verizon phone line. According to the director of Amherst County Public Safety, the tension pulled phone and power lines across the road and caused the utility pole to break. No one was injured in the Tuesday morning incident, and the driver of the construction equipment is not facing charges.
