Crash Snarled Traffic During Lynchburg Rush Hour

Two people were sent to the hospital following a crash yesterday afternoon. Authorities say local rush hour traffic had to be redirected for hours as emergency and utility crews responded to the scene on Fort Avenue. Two vehicles collided near Sandusky Drive; one of them caught fire and hit a utility pole. One driver and a passenger child were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver has been charged with failure to yield the right of way.
