Criminal Arrested after Multi-Jurisdiction Backup Was Called at Local Market

A man was arrested yesterday morning at a Campbell County convenience store. Authorities say the suspect was taken into custody after officers from the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office, Lynchburg Police Department, and State Police responded to a drug related call at Moore’s Country Store on Route 460 at about 9:30 Tuesday. Investigators say the suspect faces now multiple charges, including one count of distribution of a controlled substance–two counts of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest; he is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
