The second annual Lynchburg CROP Hunger Walk is planned next month. CROP Hunger Walks are interfaith hunger education and fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local congregations or groups to raise funds to end hunger. This year CROP Hunger Walks will share almost $3.5 million with food banks, pantries, community gardens and other local efforts across the U.S. The Lynchburg CROP Walk will take place on Sunday, March 30. Registration starts at 2 p.m., and the walk begins at 3 p.m. The 3.2 mile walk will go down Bedford Avenue. The local food pantry that will receive 25% of the money raised will be the Rivermont Area Food Pantry. More than five million CROP Hunger Walkers have participated in more than 36,000 CROP Hunger Walks in the last two decades alone. For more details or to register, visit
