Sweet Briar House in Amherst County is among several other regional spots vying for inclusion among the top 100 examples of Virginian architecture. The online contest organized by the Virginia Center for Architecture marks the 100th anniversary of the Virginia Society of the American Institute of Architects in 2014. Other regional landmarks include Monument Terrace and Point of Honor in Lynchburg. In Bedford County, Poplar Forest and the National D-Day Memorial are competing for recognition. Mead’s Tavern and Red Hill in Campbell County and the McClean House in Appomattox County all are nominated. But Friday’s deadline is approaching!
