The Lynchburg Zoning Ordinance was adopted by City Council in 1978. Since that time, portions of the ordinance have been updated, but there has not been a major rewrite. The City of Lynchburg’s Community Development Department has released a draft of the newly rewritten Zoning Ordinance document. A digital version can be found here. Hard copies can be found at the Lynchburg Public Library on Memorial Avenue, the Branch Library on the lower level of City Hall and the Community Development Department, also on the lower level of City Hall. Public meetings have been scheduled to discuss the draft. They are Tuesday, August 25, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Information Technology Building at 3550 Young Place and Wednesday, August 26, 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Public Works Training Room at 1700 Memorial Avenue.
