A Bedford County man will spend 17 years in prison after a federal investigation into a drug ring that led to 36 arrests across the Bedford area last year. A judge this week sentenced 52-year-old Ronnie Cupp, who could have received up to 20 years and a $1-million fine. The News & Advance reports that prosecutors asked for the maximum but the judge told the court he hopes 17 years will still send a message.
