Appomattox Town officials will have economic development on their minds today. Town Council is slated hear an update on the retail marketing study conducted last year. The report, presented to council in December, showed that if grouped regionally, Appomattox could attract national developers. Council is also expected to discuss priorities, initiatives, and a mission statement for the newly established economic development authority. The town established the authority in October to attract tourism-related industries. Members will decide on the next step for the group, which is expected to report to council on a quarterly basis.
