From the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office: The sheriff’s office arrested Lawrence Samuel Crank Jr., 53, of Lynchburg on 02/16/2016 following a pursuit in Amherst County. Crank sped away from deputies after trespassing at Riveredge Park in Madison Heights around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night. Crank then led officers on an eight mile chase through River Rd onto Rte. 130 before stopping near a residence on Winridge Dr. and fleeing on foot. He was apprehended shortly thereafter.

As a result of the incident Crank was charged with the following: 18.2-248 – Possession w/ intent to distribute (Methamphetamine) 46.2-817 – Felony Eluding Police 18.2-119 – Trespassing 46.2-852 – Reckless Driving 46.2-613 – Display Fictitious License Plates Crank was transported to the Amherst Adult Detention Facility where is being held with no bond.
