The Campbell County School Board has approved a raise for employees. The measure was one of several passed with the budget on Monday. The county also plans to let the division use carryover funds to pay for 4 to 5 school buses. To help make up the rest of the difference, the school board cut their proposed raise from 2 percent to 1.5 percent, and eliminated six staff positions but administrators say it will not result in layoffs. Sources say the budget would likely need further amending once state lawmakers pass their budget.
