A judge yesterday approved motions allowing additional evidence to be heard during the trial of a Richmond man charged with killing his mother-in-law in her Ravenwood Drive home in December 2012. 50 year old, Scott Miles is charged with first degree murder in the beating death of 86 year old Lynda Yeatts Slocum. The two motions will allow family and friends to testify regarding statements Slocum made days before she died regarding giving Miles money; also an expert will be permitted to speak on the crime scene as being “staged” to look like a burglary. A jury trial has been set for March 17.
